The Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation (CRCF) exists to support the long-term charitable work of Rotary clubs in Calgary.

Established in 1972, CRCF manages and invests the contributions of Rotary clubs and individual Rotarians. Our goal is simple: to ensure that the spirit of giving today continues to benefit the community for generations to come.

The Foundation carefully stewards a pooled fund contributed by our 12 member clubs. Funds are professionally invested with a focus on responsible management, growth, and preservation of capital. Each year, a portion of the fund’s earnings is distributed back to the participating Rotary clubs, empowering them to carry out vital community projects.

CRCF operates in accordance with Canadian charitable regulations and Rotary’s Four-Way Test. With assets of approximately $60 million, the Foundation plays a critical role in sustaining the impact of Rotarians’ generosity — today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

How CRCF Supports Calgary's Rotary Clubs

1. Autonomy for Clubs

Each Rotary club in Calgary retains complete decision-making authority over the funds they contribute to CRCF. This means that clubs direct their donations toward the projects and initiatives that best reflect their mission, priorities, and goals.


2. Professional Fund Management

CRCF pools resources from all Calgary Rotary clubs, investing them with care to ensure steady growth, security, and the sustainability of each club’s contributions. By professionally managing these funds, CRCF helps Rotary clubs make the most of their resources over the long term, allowing each dollar to go further.


3. Enabling Community and Global Impact

CRCF supports a diverse range of Rotary initiatives through secure fund management and resource growth. From strengthening Calgary communities to supporting international emergency relief, CRCF is committed to helping Rotary clubs achieve their philanthropic goals by maximizing the capacity of their financial resources.

Our History

The Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation (CRCF) strengthens Rotary’s long-term impact in Calgary and beyond. Founded in 1972, CRCF is a partnership of 12 Rotary Clubs working together to build a permanent, sustainable source of funding for community service projects.


The Foundation carefully stewards contributions from clubs and individual Rotarians, investing them with a focus on responsible growth, preservation of capital, and community legacy. Through annual distributions from earnings, CRCF empowers participating Rotary Clubs to expand their reach, deliver meaningful initiatives, and support the evolving needs of the communities they serve.


At its core, CRCF exists to ensure that the spirit of Rotary giving continues to create lasting change — today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.


Since its founding in 1972, the Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation (CRCF) has supported Calgary’s Rotary Clubs in their mission to improve communities and inspire giving.  Established to manage and grow charitable funds from Calgary’s Rotary Clubs, CRCF serves as a trusted steward, amplifying the impact of donations by managing lasting legacy fund.

 

Building a Lasting Legacy

 From its early days, CRCF focused on building a sustainable capital fund, one that would provide ongoing support for community-focused projects, locally and beyond. In 2007, the Foundation received a transformational $28 million gift, significantly expanding its capacity. Today, CRCF’s assets have grown to over $60 million, with 5% of the endowment disbursed annually to Calgary’s Rotary Clubs, empowering them to make a difference where they feel it is needed most.

 

Supporting Clubs, Strengthening Communities

 CRCF’s role is both simple and powerful: to support Calgary’s Rotary Clubs in their philanthropic goals. By managing funds responsibly and providing consistent returns, CRCF ensures that each Club retains control over its contributions while benefiting from professional fund management. The funds CRCF distributes each year help clubs launch or sustain initiatives in areas like education, health, housing, and community development.
